Learn How To Charter a Club

Los Altos High School ASB encourages students to join any of the many clubs on campus. Sometimes, the club you would like to be a part of doesn’t yet exist. If so, ASB encourages you to form a new club during the club charting windows.

Once a club charter application is approved, the club is recognized as an official student group and can hold meetings, fundraise, and organize activities on campus.

Follow the steps below if you’re interested in chartering a club:

CLUB CHARTERING FORMS

Club chartering is only available during the club chartering windows. The club charter windows are: Fall: typically the first 3-4 weeks of the school year; Spring: typically December-January; Fast Track Club Chartering* for the following school year is in May.

INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE CHARTER APPLICATION:

PLEASE NOTE: only currently chartered clubs in good standing are eligible for fast track chartering. Good standing = up to one strike against the club charter.

  • Names & emails of the newly elected club officers for 2026-2027(typically clubs hold elections once a year in April/May)

  • Club advisor information (please ask and confirm as they will need to sign approval for step 2)

  • When and where the club plans to meet next year (typically in the club advisors classroom, it is okay if this changes next year - please just update ASB so we have accurate information for students to find your club)

  • updated 2026-2027 Club Constitution

  • Club and Club Advisor Responsibility Contract (all new club officers must sign and the club advisor for next school year must initial and sign)

  • Club Budget (tier 1 clubs must also complete a budget by stating $0 for income and expenses)
