START THE CLUB CHARTER APPLICATION

Club chartering is only available during the club chartering windows. The club charter windows are: Fall: typically the first 3-4 weeks of the school year; Spring: typically December-January; Fast Track Club Chartering* for the following school year is in May.

INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE CHARTER APPLICATION:

PLEASE NOTE: only currently chartered clubs in good standing are eligible for re-chartering. Good standing = one or fewer strikes against the club charter.

  • Names & emails of the newly elected club officers for 2026-2027 (typically clubs hold elections once a year in April/May)

  • Club advisor information (please ask and confirm as they will need to sign approval for step 2)

  • When and where the club plans to meet next year (typically in the club advisors classroom, it is okay if this changes next year - please just update ASB so we have accurate information for students to find your club)

  • updated 2026-2027 Club Constitution (each year the club must review and update the club constitution to the new school year constitution)

  • Club and Club Advisor Responsibility Contract (all new club officers must sign and the club advisor for next school year must initial and sign)

  • Club Budget (tier 1 clubs must also complete a budget by stating $0 for income and expenses)

NOTE ABOUT THE ONLINE INFORMED K12 APPLICATION:

  • Club President must initiate the online application

  • Each officer completes their portion of the application

  • Each officer clicks “Continue” at bottom of window to move the application to the next person in the application approval process

    • First to complete: Club President

    • Second to complete: Club Vice President

    • Third to complete: Club Sectretary

    • Fourth to complete: Club Treasurer (tier 1 clubs can have the President complete this portion and note N/A for Treasurer postion and complete a budget by stating $0 for income and expenses)

    • Fifth to complete: Club Advisor

  • Charter Applications are fully submitted for approval after Step 5: Club Advisor signature | applications must be to Step 6: ASB Clubs Executive by the close of the chartering window

Learn How To Charter a Club

Los Altos High School ASB encourages students to join any of the many clubs on campus. Sometimes, the club you would like to be a part of doesn’t yet exist. If so, ASB encourages you to form a new club during the club charting windows.

Once a club charter application is approved, the club is recognized as an official student group and can hold meetings, fundraise, and organize activities on campus.
